These Things Shall Precede the Day of the LORD
I feel that the Lord has directed me to write about what is currently happening as we are transitioning from the Church Age to the Kingdom Age. (My terminology). As mostly anyone will admit, we are in the last days in the Earth as we know it. So we need to be keenly aware of what events are unfolding at this time.
Right now the LORD is separating the sheep from the sheep. I Peter 4:17-19 exhorts us: 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Verse 19 is clearly defining who those are that will endure, scarcely getting saved: They are the ones who suffer according to the will of God because they have made the choice to be crucified with Christ and share in His sufferings.
II Thessalonians 2 gives us the understanding of the season we are in at this time. The whole chapter is important since it is in view of the Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
II Thessalonians 2:1-3 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
These things shall precede the Day of the Lord: The Great Apostasy (worship of the Beast described in verse 4) and the man of sin, the son of perdition be revealed, (verse 3). I believe that these two are inter-related; two sides of a scroll if you will. Selah.
The worship of the Beast can be found in the following verses: Rev. 13:1-19; Rev. 14:9-11; Rev. 15: 2-4; Rev. 16:2-12; Rev. 19:20. Also, Daniel 9:27; Daniel 11:35-45; Daniel 12:7; Matthew 24:15.
What is the great falling away? What is drawing them away? Why are so many deceived? I believe that verse 4 tells us what is drawing them away and here is my fuller explanation:
Since we know that tares are sown in among the Lord’s field (His people) the tares ARE OF ANOTHER SPIRIT, which is the spirit of the enemy of God. This obviously causes them to have appetites for things which emanate from that wicked spirit of imitation. Satan is the great deceiver and if it were possible can fool the very elect. Matthew 24:24 says, For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. The worship of the beast will arise out of the Charismatic movement. The Anti-Christ or man of perdition as well…
How can I say that? –Simply because they are the only ones anticipating miracles and signs and wonders. I am too! But we need to make sure that things are being done by the Holy Spirit moving through individuals and not by “angels” fallen ones, moving through people.
He is going to appear to be very, very similar to the Holy Spirit when using a person to perform false signs and lying wonders and if a person who is of the elect is deceived, I believe they will come to the truth in time.
2 Corinthians 11:12-15 (KJV)
12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
The enemy is an angel of light and transforms his ministers into ministers of light as though they were ministers of righteousness. They steal the glory designated only for God by imitating His Spirit while operating in the Enemy’s spirit.
I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
The ministry of the Lord suffered a great falling away even of some disciples. They said it was a hard saying and they walked away. But He has the words of eternal life. Eternal life comes with praise of God through the sufferings, sharing in the sufferings of Christ. Putting ourselves on the altar every day and then not jumping off at the first sign of the match to light it up.
Please take this warning to heart and study the 7 churches in Revelations 2 and 3. Measure yourself against the letters of the Spirit of the Holy Lord. Be content in all things and give thanks.
Embrace your sufferings! Please stop dwelling on the wounds of your past and count it all joy that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life! Everything that happened to you in your life brought you to this point! Rejoice!
